Unmet need toolkit webinars to be rescheduled
Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with the mortality component of the unmet need toolkit, we have needed to remove it temporarily from NDTMS.Net.
Consequently, the walkthrough webinars planned for 6th and 9th February will now not be taking place and they will be rescheduled for later in the month. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Drug and alcohol deaths, in and out of treatment, are far too high and it is a national priority to reduce them. To help support this priority OHID have released the health and mortality component of the unmet need toolkit. It presents a range of different datasets and related information to help local areas understand the trends over time in mortality and morbidity, as well as to be able to get a better idea of some of the health conditions and practice that could be driving some of these trends. A suite of guidance and best practice documents have also been included.
OHID will be running two walkthrough events on the following dates where the health and mortality component will be presented with an opportunity to ask questions or to provide any feedback or suggestions you might have.

Following the release of the adult substance misuse treatment statistics on 14 December 23, ViewIt has now been updated with data for adults covering 2022-23.

Alcohol prevalence updated for 2019-20
The OHID unmet need toolkit now includes estimates of alcohol dependency for 2019-20. These new estimates have been broken down by sex and age, with the unmet need data also updated using these new estimates overall and by these groups.

NDTMS annual statistics survey released 19 Dec 23
DHSC today released the NDTMS annual statistics survey. This is an opportunity for you to provide feedback on our main statistical outputs from the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS). We will use the results to improve our products. The survey will take up to 15 minutes to complete if providing feedback on all the products. The survey will be live throughout January and February 2024.
