Young people (<18) profiles: Young people in treatment - England - Total - All in treatment

Adult (18+) and young people (<18) are different treatment groups and their respective statistics should not be compared directly. In particular: (a) young people's drug and alcohol use is especially concerning, as it may cause damage to the developing brain, interfere with normal developmental challenges and further exacerbate existing problems for those vulnerable, and (b) the focus of strategies and services to identify, support and treat drug and alcohol use in young people is different to adults.
