NDTMS Report Viewer update
We are aware there are ongoing issues with access to NDTMS Report Viewer via Google Chrome and Safari. We are looking to resolve it as soon as possible, but in the meantime please note that all functionality is available via Microsoft Edge or Firefox. These browsers may already be installed on your device or you may need to ask your IT department to download them for you (or update you to the latest version). Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) continues to work, though the ‘export to pdf’ function does not execute as expected. The workaround is to select the ‘pdf’ option twice, the first time the browser should launch an additional blank tab, if you then select the ‘pdf’ option again the report should launch in another tab.
Please note, NDTMS Q1 20/21 reports are scheduled to be available from 24th September. If you experience any difficulties accessing NDTMS Report Viewer please contact your regional NDTMS team in the first instance.

ViewIt update
The following data items are now available on ViewIt.
- In treatment 6 month outcomes (2015-16 to 2018-19) from the Treatment Outcomes Profile (TOP), which tracks the progress people make in treatment. This includes information on changes in substances use and injecting after six months of treatment.
- Interventions (2014-15 to 2018-19) which shows what type of interventions are delivered to people and in what setting the intervention is delivered.
- Parental status (2009-10 to 2018-19) which shows the number of people entering treatment who live with children. People who are parents, but whom do not live with children, are also included.
Additionally, we have also improved the rounding function in the public access area so that the rounded data provided is closer to the unrounded figures. Whichever combination of filters is selected (within local authority, sex, age band and problematic substance group), the resulting data will be rounded to the nearest 5. This method ensures that low numbers (i.e. 1-4) are suppressed and cannot be deduced from totals. Previously, before 1st October 2020, rounding was applied at the lowest granular level (combinations of categories of local authority, sex, age band and problematic substance group) and rounded figures were summed where any one or more of the three filter choices was “All” . This may have resulted in occasional figures being inflated or deflated to a greater extent than the current rounding to the nearest 5.
