Unmet need toolkit new walkthrough webinars planned for February 2024. Please click here for further details.
Drug and alcohol deaths, in and out of treatment, are far too high and it is a national priority to reduce them. To help support this priority OHID have released the health and mortality component of the unmet need toolkit. It presents a range of different datasets and related information to help local areas understand the trends over time in mortality and morbidity, as well as to be able to get a better idea of some of the health conditions and practice that could be driving some of these trends. A suite of guidance and best practice documents have also been included.
OHID will be running two walkthrough events on the following dates where the health and mortality component will be presented with an opportunity to ask questions or to provide any feedback or suggestions you might have.

The Local Outcomes Framework report has been updated with September data
The Local Outcomes Framework report has been updated with September data and includes now Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant (RSDATG) intervention data. This data is available via filters on the "Adults in Treatment" section. Filtering by IPS or RSDATG status will show only people with that status. The filters can be combined with the demographic filters to show more specific cohorts.
IPS and RSDATG are both new services and some areas have data quality issues. Please notice the data quality assessments that appear on the page when using those filters. Trends over time will reflect implementation of the services and NDTMS reporting for them. For more information on IPS and RSDATG please see https://ipsgrow.org.uk/about/what-is-ips/ [ipsgrow.org.uk] and https://www.gov.uk/government/news/extra-help-for-rough-sleepers-with-drug-and-alcohol-dependency [gov.uk] .
The report now also includes the ability to download data for multiple local authorities and regions at once on the data download pages. The data is aggregated, but as it is split into small demographic categories there is still a risk of some data being identifiable, so please be particularly careful of information risks when downloading and using data for multiple areas.
